Ku Nan: He’ll remain as Umno info chief for now

PUTRAJAYA: Tan Sri Annuar Musa’s position as Umno information chief is unlikely to be affected by his suspension as Mara chairman.

Party secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor (pic) said the two roles were unrelated – one as the head of a government agency and another in a political party.

“His position in Umno is appointed by the president.

“This case is about Mara.

“I don’t think his role as Umno information chief will be affected, at least for now,” he said.

Asked if the party would have to appoint a new information chief if a case was established against Annuar, Tengku Adnan said it was too early to say.

“The Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission has just initiated investigation.

“Let’s just wait for the outcome before we talk about it,” added Tengku Adnan.
