5.6 magnitude quake strikes Medan, tremors felt in Penang

MEDAN: A 5.6 magnitude earthquake struck near Medan, Indonesia, at 7.42pm local time Monday.  

According to Indonesia's Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency, the epicentre of the earthquake was located 28km south-west of Medan at a depth of 10km.
