Lorry on fire causes massive standstill on Sprint Highway


The burnt lorry that caused traffic to back up for about two kilometres from Sri Hartamas.

PETALING JAYA: A burning lorry brought traffic to a halt on the Sprint Highway on Tuesday afternoon.

Traffic was backed up for about 2km from Sri Hartamas to the National Science Centre due to the lorry which was located on the left lane.

According to motorist Megat Hadi who was stuck in traffic, a team of firefighters has put out the blaze. However, traffic is still congested.

"Quite a number of firefighters were at the scene," he said, adding that traffic police were on hand to offer assistance.
