Part of expressway to be closed for probe into Penang shooting

GEORGE TOWN: Police will close part of the Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Expressway where a Datuk businessman and two others were shot dead recently.

OCPD Asst Comm Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said the road closure will be carried out from 10.30am to 5pm on Wednesday (Dec 7) to enable a forensics team to carry out investigations.

The closure involves the expressway heading towards Penang Bridge from Jalan Ahmad Nor junction, he said.

“The road will be fully open at 5pm,” he said Monday.

In the incident on Thursday, businessman Datuk Ong Teik Kwong, 32, was killed when his bodyguard shot him as they were driving to the mainland.

Two other people were killed and four others were injured by stray bullets when the 37-year-old bodyguard opened fire on Ong's business partner.
