IPOH: A love triangle ended in tragedy when a lorry driver was found dead in his house in Hutan Melintang Friday.
Three suspects - the man’s 30-year-old wife, her 34-year-old Nepalese boyfriend and another man - have been arrested to help in the investigations.
Hilir Perak OCPD Asst Comm Wan Hassan Wan Ahmad said Monday preliminary investigations showed that the victim, who was in his 40s, had been struck on the back of the head with a hammer.
“The wife came to the police station at about 4am on Friday, claiming that her husband was lying in the living room of their home covered in blood," he said.
Following investigations, three suspects - the wife, her boyfriend and another man - were arrested on Sunday, ACP Wan Hassan said.
“We also found the tool used to murder the man," he said, adding that police consider the case solved following confessions from two of the suspects.
The three suspects will be remanded for seven days.
In an unrelated case, ACP Wan Hassan said police are looking for Abdul Rahman Subaiah Salim, 28, fondly known as “Osama”, to help in investigations into the murder of a 24-year-old man.
He said police had already arrested seven individuals, including a 12-year-old boy, over the murder that took place on Nov 27 in Hutan Melintang.
Those arrested include the victim's 17-year-old girlfriend, whose family disapproved of their relationship.
ACP Wan Hassan said the couple had left their homes three or four days earlier and the girl’s family had gone looking for them.
“When they finally found the couple, they bashed the victim inside his car,” he said.
Several of the girl’s family members and their friends were among those arrested.
