Water disruption in KL, PJ on Sept 27


PETALING JAYA: Consumers in parts of Kuala Lumpur and Petaling will face several hours of water disruption due to equipment replacement work.

The disruption is scheduled to take place between 3am on Sept 27 and 8am on Sept 28.

Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas) corporate communications head Amin Lin Abdullah said in a statement on Monday that the replacement work is part of efforts to improve the water distribution system in the area.

In PETALING, the areas that will be affected are SS 1, SS 2, SS 3, SS 4 (A,B,C,D), SS 5 (A,B,C,D), SS 6, SS7, SS8, SS8A and SS9A in Petaling Jaya; SS20 in Damansara Kim; SS21 in Damansara Utama; SS22 and SS22A; PJU 3 in Sunway Damansara; Bandar Utama; Tropicana; Tropicana Golf & Country Resort; Taman Tun Dr Ismail; Kg Sungai Penchala; Bukit Lanjan; Pinggiran TTDI; Kampung Sungai Kayu Ara; Ara Damansara; Section 11; Section 12; Section 13; Section 14; Section 19; Section 20; Section 21; Section 22; PJU 7 in Mutiara Damansara; PJU 8 in Damansara Perdana; Pelangi Damansara; Universiti Malaya; Eastin Hotel; Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club (KLGCC); Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam (KGPA); and the Petronas Station along the Sprint Highway.

In KUALA LUMPUR, the affected areas are the Royal Selangor Club; Bukit Kiara Resort; Bukit Kiara Sports Centre; the National Science Centre; Institute of Public Administration (Intan); Securities Commission; Education Technology Department; Sime Darby Convention Centre; Jalan Setiabistari; Jalan Setiabudi; Jalan Setiarasa; Jalan Setiaraya; Jalan Setiajaya; Jalan Medan Setia; Jalan Setiamurni (1 – 12); Persiaran Basong; Jalan Dungun; Jalan Bruas; Idamansara, Changkat Semantan; Jalan Damansara Endah; Jalan Setiabakti; Jalan Setiakash; Taman Seri Beringin; Jalan Gelenggang; Jalan Derumun; Jalan Chemperai; Persiaran Beringin; Jalan Chelagi; Jalan Teruntung; Jalan Chempenai; Jalan Birah; Jalan Beka; and Jalan Balau.

“Water supply will resume in stages upon completion of the equipment replacement works,” said Amin.

Syabas is also urging its consumers to store sufficient water before Sept 27.

“Every effort will be undertaken to expedite the replacement works for early recovery of water supply to the affected areas,” added Amin.

Syabas also said that the status of the equipment replacement work would be made available on its website, social media pages and through the mySYABAS application.
