Anwar’s application dismissed

PUTRAJAYA: A Federal Court has dismissed an application by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (pic) to compel former Commercial Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Ramli Yusuff to give oral evidence in his Sodomy II case review hearing on the grounds that such evidence was irrelevant.

Chief Judge of Malaya Justice Zulkefli Ahmad Makinudin, who chaired a five-man panel, held that his application for admission of additional evidence does not fall within any of the exceptional circumstances to justify the panel to exercise inherent jurisdiction under the Rules of the Federal Court 1995.
