Utar's Dr Teh Chee Seng dies in cycling mishap


IPOH: Prof Dr Teh Chee Seng (pic), who is Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (Utar) Student Development and Alumni Relations vice-president, has passed away. He was 51.

The associate professor passed away due to a cycling mishap at KM4.5 of Jalan Kampar-Tronoh Mines at 9.50pm on Wednesday.

Kampar OCPD Supt Ng Kong Soon said Teh was cycling on his Exitway bicycle in a group with four others from Kampar heading towards the Tronoh Mines.

"When he arrived at the site of the incident, he lost control of his bicycle and fell on the right side of the road.

"He died on the spot," he said.

Supt Ng also said the road was a two-way straight route with no lamp posts although the weather was good during the time of the incident.

The post-mortem will be carried out at the Kampar Hospital at 10am on Thursday.
