Sabah to host Teachers Day do

SERDANG: This year’s national-level Teachers Day celebration will be held in Sabah, says Education Minister Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid.

In an event to publicise Teachers Day here last Saturday, he said the 45th national celebration’s theme would be “Teachers As Nation Builders” (Guru Pembina Negara Bangsa).

At the same event, it was revealed that the celebrations would centre mainly in Kota Kinabalu from May 13 to 16, especially at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

On May 13, UMS will host an exhibition on the teaching profession. The next day, there will be a mass workout and a fun run involving nearly 2,000 participants at the UMS field.
