KOTA KINABALU: More people in Sabah’s suburbs and rural areas will be able to enjoy Internet connectivity as Maxis expands its 4G network in various parts of the state.
Maxis chief technical officer Morten Bangsgaard said apart from the city, areas such as Penampang, Tuaran, Papar, Ranau, Keningau, Semporna, Kudat, Putatan, Sipitang, Beaufort and Kota Belud could now enjoy the best 4G experience.
“We have set aside huge investments for our network and product upgrading, especially on 4G,” he said at the Maxis roadshow in Suria Sabah shopping mall here yesterday.
He said works were underway to get customers from as far as Bongawan, about 80km away, to have the same Internet experience.
Bangsgaard added that with better stability and Internet mobile plans such as the Hotlink Superrr Internet and Zerolution programmes, its data and prepaid customers would see an increase.
Bangsgaard said they have also come up with plans for Sabah and Sarawak with the recently enhanced MaxisONE plan, so that customers can enjoy unlimited data all night long (from 1am to 7am) and up to 12GB all day from just RM68 per month.
Earlier during the event, celebrities Joyce Chu and Stella Chen of RED People – a Malaysian online artist management company – as well actor Remy Ishak were present to entertain fans.
