Actress Janna Nick on her nomination in APO2016

PETALING JAYA: Budding actress Janna Nick was both taken aback and pleased when she found out she was nominated a finalist in Dnars Choice for Most Elegant Female category of Anugerah Pilihan Online 2016 (APO2016).

“I feel like I have already won, just by being nominated, as I don’t think of myself as elegant.

“I am easygoing and not really feminine so I am flattered to be nominated in the category,” she said.

She thanked her fans and supporters during an event to announce the APO2016 nominees at the Menara Star yesterday.

Janna, whose real name is Nurul Jannah Muner, is also nominated in the Online Choice Actress category, alongside actresses Ayda Jebat, Mia Ahmad, Mira Filzah and Zara Zya.

“They are strong contenders and I am not confident in winning. I will leave it to my fans to vote for me,” she said.

The inaugural APO2016 is jointly hosted by Star Media Group’s Malay-language portal mStar Online and radio station Suria FM, to recognise the importance of digital media and those who have made a difference on the platform.

First phase of voting for the finalists was from March 3 to 30, generating 120,000 votes.

The second phase starts today and the public has until April 27 to cast their votes online at apo.mstar.com.my for their preferred personalities in 17 categories.

mStar executive editor Rozaid A. Rahman said the Top Five in each category would be those who were active in social media.

“These personalities capitalise on social media to connect with the world and this is a new and growing trend.

“The project also enhances branding for Star Media Group, especially mStar Online and Suria FM,” he said.

The APO2016 awards night is scheduled for April 30 at Auditorium Perdana, Angkasapuri.

It will be broadcast live on TV2, starting 9pm.
