PETALING JAYA: Office workers checked in to work late on Tuesday morning after being caught in an unusual traffic jam.
Roads around the city were clogged up with cars causing motorists to spend from half an hour to an hour more than normal days.
The main cause of the congestion could not be determined.
One commuter said she was stuck in the Maju Expressway (MEX) from Putrajaya to Kuala Lumpur for more than an hour when the trip would take usually only half an hour.
Another commuter said that a normal half-hour drive from Subang to Petaling Jaya took almost one and a half hour.
Both mentioned a number of accidents and stalled cars along the way.
There were also reports of major traffic jams on New Pantai Expressway (NPE), Federal Highway, Lebuhraya Damansara-Puchong (LDP), New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), Konsortium Expressway Shah Alam Selangor (KESAS) , Old Klang Road and Jalan Kucing.
