KOTA KINABALU: A photo of a dog tied to a four-wheel-drive vehicle being dragged along the road heading to Lahad Datu is causing uproar among netizens.

Another driver who was behind a four-wheel-drive vehicle snapped the picture during the ride home and posted it on Facebook.

The user, who later took down the picture, said she was too traumatised by the incident.

Describing the barbaric act, the user said she and her husband were on their way back to Lahad Datu when the vehicle overtook them.

“We saw the dog, which was already dead at that time, tied behind and dragged the whole way,” she said, adding that the driver was driving like a maniac, trying to overtake everyone in front of him.

“A trail of blood could be seen for several kilometres until I think it bled out,” she added.

Facebook users who saw the posting expressed their shock over the brutal act.

Cami Joey said “how cruel”, while Farizan Satar felt that perhaps the person wanted to take revenge on the dog.

Apa salah tu anjing…. Yang pasti orang itu sakit mental…. (what wrong did the dog do, what is sure is that the person is a psycho)," said Farizan.

Qurratuani Zakariah added that the dog was God’s creation, and some netizens called for justice. They urged that a police report be made.
