KUALA LUMPUR: A bodyguard opened fire on two machete-wielding attackers who slashed a businessman at a roadside stall along Jalan Empat off Jalan Chan Sow Lin here, wounding one of them.
It is learnt that the two men attacked the businessman while he was having breakfast at the stall together with another colleague and the latter's bodyguard at 9am on Monday.
The stall owner, who wished to be known only as Madam Wong, 50, said the two attackers came waving their weapons and quickly slashed one of the businessmen.
"The bodyguard took out his pistol and fired six, seven times at the attackers, hitting one them.
"My nephew, who was helping around at the stall, was also hit in the buttocks by one of the bullets accidentally," she said when met at the scene.
The businessman and the stall owner's nephew as well as the attacker who was shot were rushed to hospital.
The second attacker ran off in the commotion.
