MALACCA: Self-proclaimed “Sultan of Malacca” Noor Jan Tuah Idris is making a fool of himself by continuing to spew ridiculous statements, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron (pic).
Noor Jan recently offered to fully sponsor Malacca’s soccer team if he was recognised by the state government as the legitimate “Sultan of Malacca”.
According to Idris, by making such remarks, Noor Jan should consider taking on comical roles instead of claiming himself to be the rightful heir to the throne of the long-gone monarchy.
“He could join comedy shows as he possesses the talent of making others laugh with his preposterous jokes.
“He will perform better as funnyman by entertaining others and perhaps join some humorous television shows,” Idris said when met Monday.
Noor Jan had continued to confer unrecognised honorary titles in private investiture ceremonies despite action initiated against him when he was detained by police on Jan 15 last year.
Idris admonished Noor Jan for smearing the state government’s reputation with his absurdity and indicated another arrest could take place if he continues to mock the State and Federal Constitutions.
