‘Green day’ birthday celebration for TV3

KUALA LUMPUR: Television network TV3’s 25th anniversary celebrations took on an environment-friendly focus, with participants spending the day among greenery and planting trees.

Among the guests were former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his wife Tun Jeanne Abdullah.

They planted an Indian Oak and conifer tree each in the Bukit Kiara Park in Taman Tun Dr Ismail here yesterday.

With them was Media Prima Berhad executive chairman Datuk Johan Jaafar.

Abdullah said he fully supported efforts to promote awareness on forest conservation.

“Malaysia cannot live without its forests,” he told reporters.

Among those present at the event were Karam Singh Walia, Fedtri Yayha, Maria Tengku Sabri, Zakiah Anas and Sasha Basir.

There were also live performances by Aizat and Fazli Zainal.
