KUCHING: Laws related to theft of telecommunication cables should be amended to ensure that those involved are severely punished as their action has negative impact on the community.
Deputy Home Minister Datuk Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said this was necessary as under existing laws, theft of telecommunication cables was categorised as a minor offence.
