WHEN Lai Mei Yi read about a 16-year-old boy who was in dire need of a liver transplant in the newspapers, she made the decision to donate a portion of her liver to him immediately.
Lai, 27, said the decision to donate her liver to Teng Cyun Shen from Malacca was fuelled by the thought of her mother’s sister, who lost her life to pancreatic cancer in 2006.
