IT DID not take long for the two weeks of Chinese New Year to pass by as the much-anticipated Chap Goh Meh of the decade came along soon enough.

Before the estimated 3,000-odd visitors arrived for the festivities at the Taman Jaya park in Petaling Jaya, the place was pelted with rain as in the year before, and by the time visitors were able to walk from their cars without getting soaked in the rain, it was past 8.30pm.
