PASIR GUDANG: A 26-year-old man drowned in Tasik Hijau Bukit Lunchu here during an outing with a group of friends.
Pasir Gudang Fire and Rescue station chief Ibrahim Omar said that they received an emergency call about the incident at about 10.22am on Saturday (Sept 11).
"Fifteen firemen were deployed to the scene. The victim is believed to have drowned after falling into the lake while taking part in recreation activities at the lake with a group of friends," he said in a statement.
He said that the search and rescue team found the victim's body at about 2.45pm.
"The victim's body was found about 9m away from the where he was believed to have fallen in," he said, adding that the body has been handed over to the police for further action.
Meanwhile, Seri Alam police chief Supt Mohd Sohaimi Ishak confirmed that they received a report on the incident at 10.36am.
