Green project: A rendering of the Eco Sanctuary township development, located in Canal City just south of Kota Kemuning,

ECO WORLD Development Group Bhd opened its third sales gallery in the Klang Valley last week in Shah Alam.

The company also unveiled its latest residential project called Eco Sanctuary. Located in Canal City just south of Kota Kemuning, Eco Sanctuary marks EcoWorld’s second township development in the Klang Valley.

The 8,500sq ft temporary sales gallery will function as Eco Sanctuary’s satellite office for the next three to six months.

EcoWorld president and chief executive officer Datuk Chang Khim Wah said with the first launch of Eco Sanctuary slated for June next month, it was timely for the group to open the EcoWorld Gallery @ Eco Sanctuary.

The sales gallery was completed as what Chang described “at super speed” in less than a month.

“Although it is set up under a marquee, visitors will be surprised to discover that the gallery is a fully equipped office that caters to all of our customers’ needs,” said Chang.

“Albeit temporary, we hope to offer our customers the best possible experience in this satellite office until we are ready to move into the Eco Sanctuary Show Village on site before the end of this year,” he added.

Eco Sanctuary is a 309-acre leasehold project with a gross development value of RM8bil) and places a strong emphasis on the “eco” aspect.

Chang said the group was extremely excited about the introduction of Eco Sanctuary to the Klang Valley market as the developer had been planning for this over a year since the purchase of the land in March 2014.

Chang shared that the project’s name was inspired by the tranquillity of the land’s natural terrain which also offered a lush secondary forest as a backdrop.

From the onset, Eco Sanctuary was planned as a “modern day sanctuary” with a green approach to the development.

Seamless integration between landscaping, architectural design and wholesome community living formed the basis of the development’s master plan.

The “eco” emphasis of the project lies not only in a higher percentage of green spaces provided – equating to about 30% of the land area – but other amenities like cycling and walking paths as well as green designs of the homes.

These include a North South orientation, large windows for cross ventilation and fittings such as solar water heater, LED streetlights, rainwater harvesting tank and recycling compartments.

Engaging the expertise of the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia, the EcoWorld managed to start an inventory on some 1,263 trees from 80 species and identifying and tagging 1,067 trees from 52 plant species for transplanting efforts. To-date, 340 trees have been transplanted to create a mature boulevard and park area.

The launch of Phase 1 of Eco Sanctuary will comprise two parcels that include semi-detached units, zero-lot bungalow, bungalows and terraced villas.

The strata-titled homes are fully gated and guarded with 10ft perimeter fencing installed with CCTV and intercom systems connecting all units with a central guard house to facilitate visitor management system.

The gated and guarded development will also enjoy an exclusive residents-only club house.

Well-thought-of space planning complemented with state-of-the-art infrastructure such as fibre optic cable network, high-speed broadband and smart home system complete the Eco Sanctuary experience.
