MAB clears air over ‘illegal’ shops

MAB says the carpark operator had never approached the association for permission to sublet portions of the land to small businesses.

THE Malaysian Association for the Blind (MAB) has come out to clear the air over a piece of land belonging to it in Brickfields that has stirred up controversy as it is being used by foreigners to do business.

In an emailed statement, a spokesman from MAB told StarMetro that the association owns the property in Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur, on which stands Wisma MAB, and the surrounding compound which it has rented out to a parking operator for use as a commercial parking lot.
