CENTRAL Market Kuala Lumpur collaborated with the Kelantan Tourist Information Centre to add colour to the iconic tourist attraction with culture and traditions from the state.
The uniqueness of Kelantan was showcased through fine dikir barat and rebana ubi shows, kertok performance and silat tari – a type of self-defence art portrayed in subtle steps in which visitors were invited to try and experience each and every session.
Organised every year at the historic Central Market complex, the two-day event was held to promote the beauty of Malaysia to local and foreign visitors.
Central Market Kuala Lumpur manager Cheong Wai Mun said the complex was always delighted to welcome such cultural programmes.

“We want to encourage more tourism activities in Malaysia by introducing the traditions and cultures in other states so that visitors from around the world can plan their trips,” she said.
Batik-painting, shadow puppet art and wau-making were also showcased throughout the event, along with an exhibition by the Kelantan State Museum and promotional package from Habib Hotel Kelantan.
All these were brought to the public for free at the Central Market Outdoor Stage.
