Pond in Ambang Botanic 1 has been cleaned
The pond at Ambang Botanic 1 in Bandar Botanic, Klang, is now clean and restored to its original condition.
Gamuda Land said the pond was cleaned up immediately after the contamination was discovered.
The township management received an official report from one of its patrolling officers regarding the pond contamination at Ambang Botanic 1.
Immediate actions were taken on the same day to reinstate the original form of the pond.
"Firstly, the floating residues and discharge were removed.
“Simultaneously, the fountain operating frequency was increased and the storm management water pumps were activated to dispel the smell and drain the pond water out.
“The condition of the pond was restored to its original state by the next day,” said the press statement from Gamuda Land, adding that this was the first time such an incident had occurred.
The company also assured that precautionary measures would be put in place to avoid a similar occurence in the future at Ambang Botanic 1 and all water bodies in the developments within Bandar Botanic.
“Alternative measures such as usage of paddle wheels and hydrogen peroxide are in place should the need arise.
“At the same time, we are closely monitoring all culvert inlets and be on the lookout for any unusual activities in the area such as water trucks or tankers which may dump waste material nearby the pond.
“We are currently inspecting houses that are under renovation at Ambang Botanic 1 and elsewhere within Bandar Botanic to ensure that there is no disturbance to the sewerage system.”
