Rep says volunteer fire unit needed in Paitan to deal with emergencies up to prevent tragedy and deemergencies

KOTA KINABALU: The Sugut assemblyman is calling for a volunteer fire unit to be set up at Paitan, some 235km from here following a fire that killed one man recently.

In making the call, Datuk James Ratib said that the great distance between the nearest fire stations, namely Pitas and Kinabatangan, had hampered rescue efforts.
