IT WAS the best birthday gift Steve Joseph could ever ask for – finding out that he would be the proud owner of a brand new Isuzu MU-X worth RM178,578.12.

The 38-year-old from Sabah, together with Yong Pao Chui, 32, from Penang, were the grand prize winners of the Homedec Contest 2015.

Joseph, whose birthday falls on Christmas Day, said the sport utility vehicle was a great replacement for the more-than-a-decade old second-hand car that he is using.

“I am in seventh heaven. I feel really happy and blessed,” said the father of four.

Yong did not expect that her purchase of several kitchen cabinets and a washing machine during the Homedec exhibition would lead to owning an Isuzu D-Max V-Cross worth RM113,483.48.

During the prize-giving ceremony, Isuzu Malaysia Sdn Bhd executive director and senior general manager Hajime Machimura congratulated the winners as well as applauded the Homedec exhibition and contest.

“It is an honour for us to be strategic partners with Homedec. We hope that there will be more opportunities to work with Homedec in the future,” added Machimura.

C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd president Datuk Vincent Lim also said they hope to make Homedec a regional player for home decoration and design by expanding into the Asean countries in the near future.

“We organised a Homedec exhibition in Jakarta, Indonesia last October. This would be a good platform for Malaysian exhibitors to showcase their products and services overseas,” he added.

The Homedec contest saw participants from the Homedec exhibitions held in Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, Penang and Kuala Lumpur from September to November last year.

Participants were automatically eligible to be in the running for the grand prizes when they spend a minimum of RM1,000 in a single receipt during the exhibition.

Organised by C.I.S Network Sdn Bhd, Homedec is a renovation, redecoration and refurbishment exhibition held annually in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Bahru and Sabah to bring innovative ideas, designs, solutions and trends to homeowners.
