KUALA TERENGGANU: Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) in Terengganu have been directed to set up Communication for Behavioural Impact (Combi) committees following the worsening dengue situation in the state.
State Health, Women, Family and Community Development committee chairman Datuk Muhammad Pehimi Yusof said the decision to set up Combi committees was made at the meeting of the State Special Dengue Committee on Wednesday and it would also be the measure for the Key Performance Index of 998 JKKKs.
“To date, more than 80 Combi have been set up statewide, but with the spike in dengue cases currently, the government wants all JKKK to set up Combi in their respective villages as soon as possible.
“The meeting also decided that all locations of dengue fever outbreaks must hold weekly gotong royong while at non-outbreak areas, at least once a month,” he told reporters after visiting the family of the second dengue victim in Terengganu.
Hanisah Mustafa of Kampung Panji Alam died after being admitted to hospital recently.
Since Jan 1, 108 dengue cases were reported statewide, with two deaths as of now. — Bernama
