South Korean’s first solo art exhibition in Malaysia tells a tale of courage, perseverance


Chin with his favourite painting titled ‘88 Cranes Is Eternal Life’, which commemorates the upcoming 88th birthday of his mentor Soka Gakkai president Daisaku Ikeda.

STRUGGLING as a young man, artist Chin Kwan Hwi turned over a new leaf and began his life as an avid painter some 30 years ago when he found religion.

In the “Vow of Mentor and Disciple – Ink Paintings by Chin Kwan Hwi” exhibition, which is currently on until Dec 20, the 58-year-old self-taught artist pays tribute to his mentor, Soka Gakkai president Daisaku Ikeda.
