KUALA LUMPUR: Integrated engineering solutions provider Destini Bhd has acquired military helicopter supply company, Halaman Optima Sdn Bhd (HOSB), for RM5.5mil.

The acquisition enables Destini to supply six reconnaissance helicopters to the Defence Ministry for the Malaysian Army.

The acquisition of the 70% stake in HOSB was made through Destini’s subsidiary, Destini Prima Sdn Bhd (DPSB).

DPSM is principally involved in defence aviation maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services.

Destini group managing director Datuk Rozabil Abdul Rahman said with the new capability and contract in hand, the group can foresee future revenue increase from recurring scheduled and unscheduled maintenance work for the Malaysian Army.

“Alongside expanding our business capabilities, we are also improving service capabilities. We are now able to provide MRO for helicopters,” he said in a statement yesterday.

DPSB has also been granted the licence for MRO works on MD helicopters that operate in Malaysia.

Rozabil said the group’s business has expanded beyond aviation MRO for safety and survival equipment.

“This presents an opportunity for the group to expand into a wider range of MRO services that covers aircraft fuselage, engine and navigational systems, to name a few,” he added. – Bernama
