Eversendai eyes RM2b in new contracts

Eversendai executive chairman and group managing director Tan Sri A K Nathan.

Currently, Eversendai has a huge presence in the Middle East and India, with markets contributing 70% and 15% respectively to group revenue.

"Eversendai's venture into Thailand has also proven to be fruitful after it successfully secured a contract for mechanical and electrical erection works and supply for a 600 megawatts coal-fired plant.

"We do not depend on a single market or client, we have spread out to the Middle-East, India and South-East Asia. With our reputation, we are confident of winning several new contracts," said Nathan.

The group's order book currently stood at RM2.2 billion over 20 prominent ongoing projects.

For the financial year ended Dec 31, 2015, Eversendai's profit after tax surged to RM62 million compared with RM36 million in 2016, while revenue rose to RM1.79 billion from RM1 billion previously. - Bernama
