IN recent weeks, Brent crude oil price has rebounded from its decade-low of US$27.90 per barrel recorded on Jan 20, 2016, to as high as US$49 per barrel on May 16, 2016. This is a blessing in disguise for oil-exporting economies.

Even though the sustainability of crude oil price level remains to be seen, the recent development has raised some concerns of impending fuel price hike if the rate of crude oil price rebound persists.
