KUALA LUMPUR: Econpile Holdings Bhd
has bagged a RM120.5mil contract for piling and related works for the Menara Felcra mixed development project on Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra (formerly Jalan Semarak), Kuala Lumpur.
The mixed development comprises a 35-storey office tower that would be the new headquarters of Felcra Bhd, a 43-storey residential tower consisting of 480 units of service apartments, as well as a six-storey commercial and retail block. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak launched the construction of Menara Felcra in May.
The 18-month job involves bored piling and diaphragm wall works as well as the construction of four-level basement using top-down construction method.
Econpile Holdings executive director/group chief executive officer Raymond Pang said that the latest contract raised the group’s total order book above RM590mil, which would be recognised till 2017.
“Contracts such as these enable Econpile to continue playing a pivotal role in the ongoing development of Kuala Lumpur City Centre to be a major commercial hub.”
The contract is slated to be completed by May 2017 and therefore expected to contribute positively to the group’s financial performance for the financial years ending June 30, 2016 and 2017.
Econpile holds a Grade 7 license from the Construction Industry Development Board of Malaysia, which allows the Group to tender for projects of unlimited values in the categories of piling, construction, and infrastructure works.
