’s request Sustainable Energy Development Authority Malaysia (Seda) for an extension in the feed-in-tariff commencement date has been approved. Comintel said on Wednesday SEDA had allowed its unit Comintel Green Technologies Sdn Bhd’s request to start the feed-in-tariff on Dec 31 instead of May 31.
The programme set-up and gasifier system optimisation, undertaken by Biogen Plc and software team, took longer than expected to commission the gasifier system.
It explained the gasifier system could operate at its optimum capacity to produce syngas in a stable condition to supply to the syngas generator to produce electricity.
Thus, the Biogen software team scheduled their trip to come back to the plant by end-June to resume their operations.
In the meantime, Comintel said its technical personnel were trying their best to operate and optimise the system.
It added the green energy venture by Comintel Green, which is initially expected to contribute positively to the FY ending Jan 31, 2016, would only start contributing in FY17.
