FINALLY, a frontline regulator has made public its analysis of corporate governance disclosures in Malaysia. This gives us an idea of how serious (or not) the listed companies are about helping investors make informed decisions.
On Tuesday, Bursa Malaysia issued the findings of its review of the 2012 and 2013 annual reports of 300 companies listed on the Main Market and ACE Market. The idea, it explains, was to determine the level and quality of corporate governance disclosures in relation to the Malaysian Code of Corporate Governance 2012 (MCCG) and the stock exchange’s relevant listing requirements.
