TH Hin Corp Bhd, a specialist in the manufacturing and trading of home gas and electrical cooking appliances, has recently set up a RM4mil warehouse in Petaling Jaya to expand its trading business.
Its group managing director K.T. Lim told StarBiz the warehouse, which had recently started operations, would store a new range of home gas and electrical cooking appliances from China and Taiwan.
“Previously, the trading arm was involved in selling home gas and electrical cooking appliances manufactured by the group under our in-house brand name Milux.

“The rationale for procuring such products from overseas is to widen our range of gas and electrical cooking appliances.
“The new range of gas and electrical cookers will also sold under our brand name Milux,” he said, adding that the group had over 650 authorised distributors in the country.
Lim said the trading division generated 60% of the group's income in the 2003 fiscal year while the manufacturing and property segments made up the balance.
He also said the group was presently working on penetrating the South American market with its gas and electrical cooking appliances.
“We currently export about 30% of our gas and electrical cooking appliances, comprising Milux and original equipment manufacturing products, to the Asia Pacific and the Middle-East. The balance is sold locally,” he added.
Lim said the group would set up a new Andersen's Ice Cream outlet in Bangsar Village, Kuala Lumpur next April.
“This will be our third Andersen Ice Cream outlet. The other two are in One Utama and Sunway Pyramid (in Petaling Jaya),” he said.
TH Hin's 60%-owned unit Andersen's of Denmark (M) Sdn Bhd manages the ice cream business. The balance 40% stake is held by Andersen's of Denmark (Asia) Pte Ltd.
For the year ended Aug 31, the group posted RM51mil in revenue and RM2.6mil in pre-tax profit, compared with RM44.3mil revenue and RM2.5mil pre-tax profit in the previous year.
“The slightly higher profit was due to contribution from our property segment. We have sold more than 60% of our joint-venture project, known as Pansprint, in Bukit Mertajam .
“Scheduled for completion in December, the project comprises 94 terraced, semi-detached, and bungalow units,” Lim said.
