Body found floating on lake in Japan's Fukuoka Park; same lake where another body was found earlier this month


TOKYO: A call was made to police to report a body floating on a lake at Ohori Park in Fukuoka on Sunday (April 19).

“A person seems to be floating face down [on the lake],” said the caller, a member of staff at the park’s administration office, during the call at about 11.35am.

A woman thought to be a senior citizen was pulled from the lake and confirmed dead at the scene.

The Fukuoka Prefectural Police Department is investigating the identity of the woman and the cause of her cause.

According to a police announcement, the woman was wearing red and brown clothes that resembled pajamas with a white raincoat on top.

The body had not decomposed, and no conspicuous wounds were observed.

On April 10, the body of a 78-year-old man was found floating on the same lake. - The Yomiuri Shimbun
