US university offers 'League of Legends' scholarships


GOING MAINSTREAM: Visitors watching international teams compete during the a "League of Legends" tournament in Paris.

Validating the status of eSports title League of Legends is Robert Morris University in Illinois, which is to offer scholarships to players good enough to compete as part of the institution's own college sports outfit. 

A free game for small teams of players, League of Legends is already well associated with an international tournament schedule that can net up to a million dollars for its winning groups.
