KUALA LUMPUR: Three old war horses were put out to pasture as the Malaysian Hockey Confederation (MHC) named a squad of 35 trainees for the national hockey team.

The three – goalkeeper Roslan Jamaluddin (199 caps), defender Azlan Misron (349) and forward Tengku Ahmad Tajuddin (206) – were left out due to their age as the MHC named a squad with an average age of 24.
