SEREMBAN: The country has lost an aspiring middle distance runner following the death of 22-year-old national 800m trainee S. Shivashankaran.

Shivashankaran, who was awarded the Negri Sembilan Schools Athlete of the Year in 2010, died without regaining consciousness two days after being involved in a road accident in Kuala Lumpur.
