Russia's Putin discussed escalation of violence in Ukraine - Interfax

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed a recent spike in violence in east Ukraine with his security council, Interfax said on Wednesday, citing the Kremlin.

Interfax added that Putin also discussed ways to counter Islamic State.
