Dr Mahathir unwell, resting at home

PETALING JAYA: The launch of the newly-formed Malaysia Trailblazers Association (MyPerintis) set for Sunday has been cancelled as its patron, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad (pic), is unwell.

According to Dr Mahathir’s aide, the former prime minister is ill and resting at home.

On Saturday, MyPerintis founder Datuk Laurence Low Kah Guan said the association would postpone its launch to another date as Dr Mahathir was not able to attend.

“Dear friends, I just received a call from Dr Mahathir’s office that he is down with fever, chest pain and coughing.

“We will need to postpone the launch to a further date. Let's all pray for Tun’s speedy recovery. Sorry the inconvenience,” he said on the association’s website.

MyPerintis is a youth association established on June 30 this year.

It was initiated to focus on acquiring knowledge, leadership and youth development among youths in Malaysia.
