Water supply disruption in Petaling, KL



KUALA LUMPUR: Several areas in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur are facing unscheduled water disruption for 11 hours, from Wednesday night until 10am Thursday.

Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor’s (Syabas) executive director of corporate affairs Priscilla Alfred said the disruption was due to emergency works to repair a 1800mm main pipe which had burst leading up to the Bukit Gasing Water Pool.

“A total of 185,867 houses in Petaling and 35,000 houses in Kuala Lumpur will be affected, and they are expected regain water supply in stages after repair works are completed,” she said.

Among the places affected in Petaling are Taman Lian Hoe, Taman Gembira, Taman Pagar Ruyung, Taman Good Wood, Apartment Tiara Villa, Taman Serangkai, Batu 3 to Batu 8 of Jalan Klang Lama, Lorong Seputih, Taman Desa, Taman OUG, Taman Evergreen, Taman Shanghai, Taman Skyline, Taman United, Taman Bukit Indah, Taman Halimathon dan Taman Continental, Taman Sungai Besi, Taman Kuchai Enterpreneur, Jalan Kuchai Lama, Taman Salak Selatan, Kampung Malaysia, Pekan Sungai Besi, Taman Sri Manja, Taman Desa Ria, Gasing Indah and Gasing Height.

The disruption would also involve Kampung Pasir Baru, Taman Kanagapuram, Section 51, Taman Seri Sentosa, Section 51A, Pantai Dalam, Angkasapuri, Kampung Kerinchi Limau, Kampung Dato Tata, SS9, Section 14, Kampung Baiduri, Taman Tan Yiew Lai, Petaling Bahagia, Jalan Puchong, Bandar Baru Sri Petaling, Section 1 to 6, Bandar Tasik Selatan, Taman Yarl, Bukit Templer, Taman Salak Selatan, Taman Naga Emas, Jalan SP 1 until SP 18, Jalan Perkasa, Jalan 1 to 34, Kampung Baru Salak Selatan dan Jalan 1/125 until 10/25.

Other areas include the Bukit Jalil Golf Resort, Vista Komanwel Condominiums, Bandar Baru Bukit Jalil, Happy Garden, Kuchai Jaya, Kuchai Lama, Taman Sungai Besi, Taman Salak Jaya, Danau Desa, Taman Serangkai, Jalan Nikmat, Taman Bukit Indah, Taman Desa, Jalan Desa Maju, Jalan Desa Mesra, Taman Gembira, Petaling Garden, Gasing Indah and Petaling Height.

In Kuala Lumpur, among the places affected are TUDM Sungai Besi, Jalan Lapangan Terbang, Jalan Lapangan Terbang Lama, Jalan Sungai Besi, Jalan Chan Sow Lin, half of Sungai Besi area (shophouses near the Sungai Besi post office), Kampung Batu Kong, Jalan Wisma Putra, Jalan Syed Putra, Jalan Bellamy, Jalan Bukit Petaling, Jalan Kerayong, Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka, Wisma Perwira, Gapena, Jalan San Peng, Dataran F&N, Persiaran Syed Putra, Jalan Robson, Taman Seputeh, Taman Bukit Seputeh, Taman Seputeh Height, KL Sentral, Brickfields and Wisma Putra.

Priscilla said Syabas would continue to inform about the recovery status in the areas involved if necessary.
