Indonesian girl claims abduction and gang-rape

GEORGE TOWN: A 19-year-old Indonesian girl has lodged a police report claiming she was abducted and raped by four men before being taken to Thailand from where she escaped.

She told police that she was waiting for her factory bus at about 6am on Aug 12 when a car pulled up next to her adding that she said she was dragged into the car and taken to a flat in Paya Terubong where four men repeatedly raped her.

The girl claimed that she was taken to Thailand a few hours later but managed to escape from her abductors with the help of a resident who helped her contact a friend and brought her back to Penang.

State CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Mohd Zakaria Ahmad said yesterday three men and a woman, aged between 19 and 22, had been arrested in connection with the case soon after the girl lodged a police report on Friday.

“They have been remanded pending investigations. The case has been classified as wrongful confinement and rape.

“We believe that there could be other people involved and we are tracking them down.” he said.
