Body of child found buried in kitchen

The skeleton of a child was found in this kitchen

GOMBAK: The skeleton of a child was found buried in cement under the floor of a house kitchen in Kepong, Friday.

Owners of the house said renovation workers discovered the body after noticing a foul stench coming from a hole in the floor while they were redoing the kitchen Friday evening.

The house had been rented out until April.

The body of the child, who Selangor CID chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Mohamad Adnan Abdullah believes was a girl, was found in a hole dug into the cement floor of the kitchen.

Her body was wrapped in cloth. It is believed that a fresh batch of cement was poured into the hole to cover up the body.

"The owners told us that the tenants had asked permission to do repairs in a bathroom.

”When they came to check in April, they found that the family had vacated the home and there was a patch of new cement in the kitchen floor," said Gombak OCPD Asst Comm Ali Ahmad.

The young couple reportedly had two sons and a daughter.

"We are trying to track them down. The case has been classified as murder," ACP Ali said.

The family is believed to have been renting the house since 2014.

The body of the child has been brought to the Sungai Buloh Hospital for a postmortem.

The cause of death has yet to be determined, though doctors have ruled the child may have been dead since April.
