Journalist organisations condemn use of Sedition Act over article


PETALING JAYA: Journalist organisations and rights groups have expressed support for five editors and senior officials from The Malaysian Insider portal who were arrested under the Sedition Act.

The National Union of Journalists (NUJ) said it “strongly condemned” the arrests which it believed were unnecessary as those involved could meet the police at any time to have their statements recorded.
