Water supply disruption in Sabak Bernam, Hulu Selangor following emergency repair work

PETALING JAYA: A total of 31,156 households in Sabak Bernam and Hulu Selangor are currently experiencing unscheduled water supply disruption and low water pressure as a result of emergency repair work at the Air Bernam River Headworks plant.

“The repairs were fully completed by Puncak Niaga (M) Sdn Bhd at about 6pm on Wednesday evening and the plant resumed operations immediately after that. However, at the time of this statement, Syabas has been informed that the plant is not at its full operational level,” said Syabas corporate communication and public affairs general manager Priscilla Alfred in a statement on Wednesday night.

She said Syabas estimated that supply would be restored to the 87 affected areas in Sabak Bernam and 11 in Hulu Selangor late Wednesday night.

“Syabas will be preparing emergency water supply through water tanker lorries and static tanks,” she said, adding that priority would be given to emergency usage such as for weddings and funerals, and for hospitals, dialysis centres and welfare homes.
