Water supply disruption for Hulu Langat, Sepang on Wednesday


KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 56,884 households in Hulu Langat and Sepang, Selangor, will experience a disruption of water supply for 36 hours starting from 8pm Wednesday to 8am Friday to facilitate emergency works to repair a broken pipe.

The main pipe that ruptured was for treated water from the Semenyih Water Treatment Plant managed by Konsortium Abass Sdn Bhd and the emergency work has to be completed soon, said Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) in a statement Tuesday.

A total of 44,661 houses in 54 areas in Hulu Langat will face disruption, including Section 6, Bandar Baru Bangi; Bandar Sri Putra, Bangi; Taman Impian Putra; Taman Bangi Villa; Taman Bangi Indah; Bandar Bukit Mahkota, Pekan Bangi Lama, Desa Mahkota Bangi; Mutiara Bangi and Taman Jernang Jaya.

Meanwhile, 12,223 households from 15 areas in Sepang namely Taman Warisan Bestari; Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi; Taman Kenanga; Kota Warisan; Taman Bunga Raya, Taman Mawar (1,2, Perdana, Emas Villa); Taman Dahlia; Taman Seroja; Taman Ixora; Kampung Geching Hulu; Desa Salak Permai, Taman Angerik; Jenderam Hilir and Sungai Buah will be affected.

To help reduce inconvenience to consumers in the affected areas, Syabas will have lorry tankers or static water tanks on standby for emergency water supply.

Syabas would also like to remind consumers to store sufficient water and to use water wisely to avoid wastage during the emergency work, it added. - Bernama
