Ministry: No cases of infection from eating apples


PETALING JAYA: Imported prepacked whole caramel apples are not available in Malaysia and there are no reported cases of Listeria monocytogenes infection due to eating apples so far, says the Health Ministry.

Health director-general Datuk Seri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the bacteria would not be able to get into apples unless the skin was cut.
