Water rationing in Rembau and Tampin from next Monday

SEREMBAN: Syarikat Air Negeri Sembilan Sdn Bhd (SAINS) will ration water supply for the districts of Rembau and Tampin from next Monday, Jan 12 due to low water level at the Gemencheh Dam, in Tampin.

Negeri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan said despite the heavy rainfall in the East Coast since last month, the existing rainfall in the state did not have much of an impact in the catchment areas of the dam.

"As such, SAINS hopes that by having scheduled rationing, it can help prolong the water supply to eight months (from four months)," he told reporters, here, today.

Consumers can contact SAINS via toll free line 1-800-88-6982 for further information. – Bernama
