Fast food is halal, says Jamil Khir

kUALA lUMPUR: Muslims can rest assured that the food in fast-food outlets and 24-hour restaurants have halal certification as religious authorities periodically check such places.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk Seri Jamil Khir Baharom, who is in charge of religious affairs, said Muslims did not have to feel suspicious about the food they eat in places that have received the Malaysian halal certification.
